This document provides draft guidance to our stakeholders and water companies on our regulatory and commercial expectations where water companies are developing projects to be delivered under the Water Industry (Specified Infrastructure Projects) (English Undertakers) Regulations 2013 (SIPR). This document should be read in conjunction with Ofwat’s statutory guidance ‘Criteria for selecting specified infrastructure projects’.
Ofwat is consulting on this draft guidance and welcomes comments from stakeholders. Comments should be sent to [email protected] no later than 5:00pm on Tuesday, 21st July 2026. We intend to issue finalised guidance in late 2026.
We will be hosting a webinar at 2:15-3:00pm on the 16 June 2026 for investors and supply chain participants. This session will give a brief overview of both the SIPR and DPC guidance and give attendees an opportunity to ask questions.
