Chris Elmore MP

Biography
Chris Elmore was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office on 7 September 2025. He was previously Comptroller of HM Household (Government Whip) between 10 July 2024 and 7 September 2025. He was elected as the MP for Bridgend in July 2024.
Chris Elmore was appointed the UK Special Envoy on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict on 19 June 2026.

UK Special Envoy on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict
The UK Special Envoy on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict works with governments, the UN, civil society and others to:
- strengthen accountability and tackle impunity
- provide greater support for survivors
- ensure gender equality is fully integrated in all peace and security efforts
- deliver a more effective multilateral response to crimes of sexual violence in conflict
The special envoy also represents the UK at high-level meetings of the International Alliance on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict, a forum for co-ordinating action on conflict-related sexual violence, sharing best practice and hearing from survivors.
