NICE HealthTech Coding Guidance

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) publishes interventional procedure guidance, known as NICE HealthTech Guidance (HTG).

For each published interventional procedure guidance NICE and NHS England work collaboratively to identify the most appropriate OPCS‑4 procedure codes and, where relevant, ICD‑10 diagnosis codes to support coding.

This lookup table provides access to the clinical classification codes associated with the NICE HealthTech Guidance. It should be used in conjunction with published NICE HTG guidance.

All columns in the table are searchable to support ease of use.

Clinical coders remain responsible for ensuring that the codes assigned accurately reflect the procedure carried out, based on the information in the patient medical record and in accordance with the national coding standards.

Note: OPCS‑4: The procedure codes and guidance in this lookup table relate to OPCS‑4.11 and apply to coding activity from 1 April 2026 onwards.
