About the Role

As Learning and Development Advisor in Leicestershire Social Care Development Group (LSCDG), your key duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Working with Commissioning & Quality colleagues in Leicester City and Leicestershire County Councils to provide sound and professional learning and development advice, guidance and opportunities, including formal and informal approaches and methods of learning, design, delivery and evaluation of learning and development activities, coaching, advice and support.
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in adult social care legislation, case law and best practice and use this to inform effective, high-quality learning and development activities.
  • Develop and deliver a range of high-quality training opportunities (digital, online and face-to-face) to support the adult social care sector to provide safe, effective and high-quality care to the people of Leicester and Leicestershire.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Have a relevant degree or professional/management qualification (eg. Social Work qualification, Registered Manager award) or relevant and significant operational experience at the level equivalent to the above qualification.
  • Have demonstrable experience of having successfully delivered learning and development within a complex organisation, and specifically within the private/independent adult social care sector, on time and within budget.
  • Have experience of having provided learning and development advice to managers on learning and development issues.
  • Manage your time effectively, make adjustments to your own practice and process to deliver improved results, and take measured risks and responsibility for outcomes.
  • Be able to work as part of a project team, or on your own, and develop good and appropriate relationships with all partners
  • Have knowledge of relevant adult social care legislation
  • Be able to design, construct, structure and deliver training to meet a variety of needs, delivered face-to-face, online or in a blended format.
