How to use eTickets at the station
Whether it's on your phone or printed out, simply scan your eTicket barcode at the ticket gates to open them so you can enter or leave the station.
When you're on board the train, have your eTicket ready, so our staff can check your tickets.

Printing train tickets
If you'd like a physical train ticket, you can print out your PDF eTicket and scan it at the station like a digital ticket. You'll need to print it out before arriving at the station.

You can buy train tickets online on the Greater Anglia website or mobile app, available on Apple and Android devices.
- eTickets: can be used to collect daily tickets bought on our website and app. After purchase, you should recieve an email with your PDF eTicket attached which you can use at the station or print out, you can also use the link in the email or app to save it on to your apple/google wallet. If you have an account, you can find your eTicket on the GA app under My tickets.
- Smartcard: can be used to collect Season tickets bought on our website and app. Wait 5 minutes after purchase, then go to My tickets on the GA app and click the orange Smartcard button. Hold your card firmly towards the top of the screen on the front or back of your iPhone, or the back of your Android phone to load your ticket. You'll now be able to see all the tickets on your card.
- Self service ticket machine: can be used to collect daily tickets bought on our website. You will need your collection reference and any debit/credit card to collect from a self-serve ticket machine. The card is just for activating the machine so it won't be charged. You'll also need to bring a card with you if you use other payment methods like Paypal.
When you arrive at the station, scan your eTicket at the ticket gate using the barcode scanner. Once scanned, the gate will open, allowing you to enter or exit the platform.
