Have you considered a career in Talking Therapies? Do you want to make a difference in helping people manage anxiety, stress and depression?
Train as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) with NHS West Sussex Talking Therapies (formally Time to Talk)
Training is provided in partnership with The University of Exeter and the course commences on the 8th September 2026. Applicants must be able to commence employment by 1st September 2026. The University delivers a hybrid approach to teaching, involving some face-to-face and some remote learning.
The usual teaching days for the course are anticipated to be in London, on Wednesdays and Thursdays with some additional training days and teaching blocks. The remaining days will be spent in clinical practice in your designated team base.
Please be aware that the closing date will be brought forward if the number of applicants exceeds the required amount for shortlisting – so please apply early.
You will be part of a high-performing service which provides remote and face-to-face treatments for our patients including telephone, video and in-person appointments, with qualified staff being both home and office based. We offer flexible working, provide an 8am-8pm service and once qualified working one evening per week is required.
You will receive excellent clinical supervision from a Senior PWP. You will also have the opportunity to work with CBT Therapists, Counsellors and qualified PWPs, all of whom have a reputation for being friendly and supportive of trainees.
We have training posts available which will be located in one of our bases in West Sussex. You will need to be able and willing to travel to different sites as required in West Sussex. If successful at interview, you will be provided with options for your base location, subject to availability.
Travel between your work base and our clinic locations in West Sussex will be covered by NHS West Sussex Talking Therapies expenses.
We are looking for candidates from a broad range of backgrounds. This enhances trainees' learning, and we are also keen to develop a workforce that represents the diverse society in which we live.
