Dan Hobbs

Biography
Dan is the Director General, Migration, Borders and International Policy and Programmes.
Over the last 10 years Dan has held various roles leading on immigration and asylum policy and a number of operational roles.
He served as Director General for the Migration and Borders Group from August 2023 until June 2026.
Dan previously worked as Director for Asylum, Protection and Enforcement Policy in the Home Office.
He previously led the development and establishment of the Windrush Compensation Scheme.
Dan joined the Home Office in 2002, initially working on corporate roles, criminal justice and prison and probation policy.
He subsequently joined the fast stream and had roles in the Cabinet Office Secretariat and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Dan is a fellow of the Westminster Abbey Institute.
