Harwell site
Councillor Chris Broad
Chair
I relocated to the area from Sheffield, when I took up the position with UKAEA at Harwell, as an IT specialist. In Sheffield I held a few jobs all within the public sector.
During my time in UKAEA, I visited may of the sites and although I’m not an expert in nuclear fusion, I managed to gain a working knowledge of the industry and the sites managed by UKAEA. This helps with my role of SSG Chair.
When I moved to Chilton which is a mile from the Harwell site, I got involved with village life and after several years of being in the village I became a parish councillor for the village and in this role become involved with the SSG meetings.
Chilton village has always had a good relationship with the Harwell Magnox site, I am interested in the current work being undertaken and the next release of land which will ensure employment remains in the area with the expansion of the Harwell campus.
