Chair

“I worked in the Nuclear Industry for over 50 years prior to my retirement.  Working in all areas of the industry from construction maintenance/operations and decommissioning.  My final 3 years I was the Employee Support Officer.

An elected union representative for over 45 years. I also served on my union Energy & Utilities National and Regional Committees for over 20 years.  I was Chair of the joint trade union group within UKAEA and DSRL.

I have been an active member of the DSG for many years following my retirement from the Nuclear Industry. Since 2019 I have been Chair of the Socio Economic subgroup and served as Vice Chair of the DSG since 2020. In 2026 I was voted in as Chair of the DSG,  I would like to think that I have served an apprenticeship that will be beneficial in my new role as chair.

Away from DSG activities, I enjoy watching football (especially watching my 3 grandsons playing). I play drums in a local covers band, enjoy a game of bowls and lastly holidays at home and abroad with my wife.”
