Dounreay division

I am a long-standing and active member of the Caithness community, with extensive experience in public service, local governance and community engagement. I previously served as a Highland Councillor, where I played an active role in decision‑making and representing the interests of local communities.

I am currently Chair of the Buldoo Residents Group and a Depute Lord Lieutenant. I have also held a number of voluntary leadership roles, including Chair of the Halkirk District Benefit Fund and Director of the Caithness & North Sutherland Fund, where I was directly involved in the assessment and awarding of community benefit funding. Through these roles, I have developed a strong understanding of the socio‑economic landscape of Caithness and substantial experience working collaboratively with communities, public bodies and a wide range of stakeholders.

Alongside this, I am the joint owner of a working farm, giving me practical insight into rural business, land management and the challenges facing rural communities. I have a particular interest in environmental, planning and community development matters.

I am committed to supporting open and transparent dialogue, and to ensuring that local communities are well informed, effectively represented and meaningfully involved in decisions that affect them.
