Beaulieu Park station

Beaulieu Park is the first new railway station to be built on the Great Eastern Main Line in more than a century. The new station is a landmark addition to the region’s transport network. Conveniently located next to the Beaulieu Park housing development and the A12, the station offers modern facilities, frequent services, and a much-needed boost to local connectivity.

Designed to ease pressure on Chelmsford station, Beaulieu Park provides a more resilient and flexible travel option for the area, with three platforms, more than 700 parking spaces, a public transport interchange, and storage for over 500 bicycles. Opened on Sunday 26 October, the station is set to transform how people travel across mid-Essex and beyond.

By bus

A modern, canopy-covered bus interchange is located directly next to the main station building. Real-time digital displays and local route maps make it easy to plan onward journeys.

Several First Bus services have been extended to call at Beaulieu Park station:

• C8 (Beaulieu Park – Springfield): Services begin at 06:35, with up to two buses an hour on weekdays and Saturdays, and hourly on Sundays.
• C9 (Beaulieu Park – Chelmsford city centre): Services begin at 05:40, with up to three buses an hour during weekday peak times, two on Saturdays, and hourly on Sundays.
• C11 (Beaulieu Park – North Springfield – Chelmsford): Services begin at 05:50, with up to two buses an hour Monday to Saturday and hourly on Sundays.
• 73, 73A and 73B (Maldon – Chelmsford): Up to six buses a day serve Beaulieu Park station from Monday to Saturday, with variations on school days and holidays.

Bus Interchange at Beaulieu Park station

By bicycle or on foot

Cycling and walking routes to Beaulieu Park have been designed with safety and convenience in mind. New and upgraded pathways connect the station with Channels, Beaulieu, Springfield and Chelmer Village, while additional routes are planned on the opposite side of Generals Lane. Many of the new paths are resin-bound or tarmacked, well-lit, and integrated with existing local walking and cycling networks around the Great Park and Beaulieu Park Recreation Ground.

There is space for more than 500 bicycles across two secure, CCTV-monitored storage areas on either side of the station. The western cycle store, near the bus interchange, is ideal for those arriving from Channels, Beaulieu, Springfield or Chelmer Village. The eastern store sits beside Car Park A.

Each storage facility offers a selection of free covered cycle racks and secure, paid-for storage, including accessible options. Users must supply their own lock for all types of cycle storage.

Taxis and drop-offs

For those arriving by taxi or being dropped off, there is a dedicated drop-off and pick-up area immediately outside the station building. It’s free to use for up to ten minutes (with no return within 20 minutes).

A taxi rank is also located just outside the station entrance, where passengers can hire a licensed taxi or meet a pre-booked cab.

By car

Ahead of the station’s opening, Essex County Council completed a package of road improvements to make access to Beaulieu Park smooth and straightforward.

Arriving via Beaulieu Parkway Bridge, drivers can choose between two car parks: Car Park A and Car Park B.

Car Park A, nearest to the station building, provides almost 300 spaces, including 38 Blue Badge bays, 4 electric vehicle charging points, and parking for 75 motorbikes. From the Boreham Interchange, follow the A131 over the bridge and take the first exit onto Beaulieu Park Station Approach.

Car Park B, operated by NCP on behalf of Greater Anglia, can be reached by taking the same route but using the third exit at the roundabout onto an unnamed road (listed on Google Maps as Loverose Way). Located on the eastern side of the station, this car park offers around 450 spaces, with a well-lit, tarmacked 370-metre footpath linking directly to the station. There is a motorcycle bay suitable for up to 7 bikes, and 6 EV chargers will be installed in due course.
