How to replace a physical visa if you're outside the UK

Physical visa vignettes (stickers) are no longer being issued.

You might need to replace your visa vignette if, for example:

your 90-day visa vignette has expired
your passport or travel document containing a visa vignette was lost or stolen
your form for affixing a visa containing a visa vignette was lost, stolen, or damaged
your personal details have changed

If your expired visa vignette is for anything other than 90 days (for example, a vignette for a visitor visa), you’ll need to apply for a new visa.

When you can travel using your visa vignette

If you have a valid visa vignette in a current passport or travel document, you can use it to travel to and from the UK until the vignette expires.

If you have a valid visa vignette in an expired passport, you can choose to either:

use the valid vignette in your expired passport when you’re travelling to and from the UK - you’ll need to carry both passports (expired and new)
use your eVisa - sign in to your UKVI account or create one to access it (you’ll be able to add your new passport details)

In most cases, you can use your eVisa in place of your visa vignette.

You’ll need to provide your fingerprints and photo (biometric information) at a visa application centre to complete your application.

You’ll usually get a decision within 3 weeks of proving your identity.
