1) Petfre (Gibraltar) Limited to pay £900,000 for regulatory failures 

An online gambling business is to pay £900,000 after a Commission investigation revealed social responsibility failures.  

Petfre (Gibraltar) Limited – which runs betfred.com – will pay the money as part of a settlement with the Commission.

2) Stakelogic BV to pay £122,835 for running slots too fast 

A gambling software business is to pay £122,835 for breaching responsible product design standards.

Stakelogic BV, which runs games on other operator’s websites and apps, ran slots games faster than the minimum time gap of 2.5 seconds between spins.

3) DCMS concludes consultation on gambling regulation funding 

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has published its consultation response on the funding of the Gambling Commission which took place between January and March this year.

4) Commission invites industry proposals to reduce regulatory burdens 

The Commission is calling for proposals from the gambling industry to identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens while maintaining strong consumer protections and upholding the licensing objectives of the Gambling Act 2005.

5) Two admit General Election betting offences 

On 29 June 2026, Craig Williams and Amy Hind pleaded guilty to offences of cheating, contrary to section 42(1)(a) of the Gambling Act 2005.

6) Tim Miller announces departure from Gambling Commission 

The Commission has announced that Tim Miller, Executive Director of Policy and Research has decided to leave the Commission in September 2026 after 10 years of service.
