The invaluable support of our Patrons enables the British Museum to continue to care for the collection and share its stories with audiences in London and around the globe.

As members of a community of curious minds, Patrons can enjoy the collection and learn from Museum experts in uniquely engaging and intimate environments. With opportunities to go behind the scenes and gain exclusive access to our special exhibitions and galleries, Patrons receive an unparalleled experience – all while supporting the vital work of the Museum.

We invite you to become a part of the special community at the heart of the British Museum:

Patron Circles

We have three Patron Circles to choose from. Each Circle provides the opportunity to support the Museum's vital work and gives access to a unique selection of benefits, allowing you to pick the option most suited to you.

    Sloane Circle

    £12,000 annually – Sloane Patrons enjoy a bespoke relationship with the Museum and collection, so you can tailor your experience with us.

    Cracherode Circle

    £5,000 annually – Cracherode Patrons enjoy remarkable experiences at the Museum, and access to behind-the-scenes moments and trips abroad.

    Brooke Sewell Circle

    £3,000 annually – Brooke Sewell Patrons can engage closely with the Museum's world class exhibitions and collection through unique events.

Special Interest Groups

In addition to our Patron Circles, we have three Special Interest Groups which support the acquisition of works on paper within the Departments of Prints and Drawings and the Middle East. Thanks to the generosity of these supporters, the Museum is able to acquire new works that strengthen its world-leading collection and ensure its relevance for the future. Members of these groups are invited to special moments and events throughout the year and have close contact with the curators working in their area of support.

    CaMMEA Group

    £4,500 annually – CaMMEA supports the Museum's growing collection of more than 200 established and emerging artists from the Middle East.

    Ottley Group (pre-1900 European drawings)

    £4,500 annually – the Ottley Group supports the acquisition of Old Master and English works for the Department of Prints and Drawings.

    £4,500 annually – the Vollard Group supports the Department of Prints and Drawings' acquisition of modern and contemporary works on paper.
