The Young Poets Programme is a new six-month project at the British Museum that supports young people (aged 16–24) to explore poetry as a way of thinking, feeling, questioning and connecting.

The Museum has always been a place for reflection. This programme invites a first cohort of young poets to respond not only to the collection, but to the present moment drawing on their own lives, experiences, interests and opinions, as well as the histories held within the Museum.

Recruitment for the 2026 programme has now ended. Please follow @bmyoungpeople on Instagram for other opportunities.
