Katherine began her AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Project “Tracing Public Perceptions of Winston Churchill from the First World War to 2020”, a partnership between IWM and King’s College London, in October 2022.
Her project hopes to explore depictions of Churchill on stage and screen; representations of Churchill at heritage sites like Blenheim, Chartwell, and the Cabinet War Rooms; and integrate studies of the “Churchill Legend” with studies of other national war heroes.
Katherine is also a playwright. Her first play “Farm Hall” premiered at Jermyn Street Theatre in April 2023 and will go on tour in the autumn. “Farm Hall” was inspired by the transcripts of recorded conversations between the German nuclear scientists detained in a stately home in Cambridgeshire by the British Secret Service at the end of the Second World War.
