Booking your visit
We are now taking bookings up to July 2027. All schools must book in advance.
Before you make a booking, please have the following information ready:
- First, second and third choice of date and time.
- Number of students and adults. We ask for a supervision ratio of 1 adult to every 10 students for primary schools and 1 adult to every 15 students of secondary level and above.
- Hangars and exhibitions you want to visit and any Learning Sessions you would like to book.
- Access or special requirements.

Please note, school visits booked at weekends or during the school holidays are on a self-guided basis. We are unable to offer paid sessions.
Access and Special Education Needs
IWM tries to ensure we cater for a range of needs and can provide wheelchair access, resources to support blind and visually impaired visitors and deaf and hearing impaired visitors. We also have Quiet Room access available for prayer or sensory needs. Please visit our Access Page for more details.

Exhibition Notices
IWM Duxford's exhibitions are undergoing lots of exciting changes and as a result, some spaces will be temporarily closed and some items will be moved to new spaces. Keep an eye on our webpages and for up to date information on What's Here ahead of your visit.
Please note, Land Warfare closed permanently on 1 June 2025.

Lunch and Bag Room Facilities
You will be allocated a lunch time with your booking in our school lunchroom. There are also outside picnic benches you may wish to consider as an option on the day. When using the lunchroom please ensure you do not remain in the space for longer than your allocated time. You are welcome to use the cleaning products provided to wipe down tables. Frequent cleaning will also be in place.
A School Bag Room is available; space is limited and it is not staffed so please be advised that all property is left there at your own risk.
Cancellations
If you have Learning Sessions booked as part of your visit then administrative costs can apply. No charges will apply to cancellations made more than 28 days before the visit. Cancellations of visits including learning sessions made 27 days or less prior to the visit date will incur a 100% administration fee.
We don't charge for cancellations of self-guided visits to IWM Duxford however please let us know if you can't visit so we can offer the space to another group.

Gift bags are available to order in advance from the IWM Duxford shop. These should be reserved when booking your visit.
They cost £5 each and must be paid for in advance.
