Second World War fighters scramble from historic Duxford just like they did in the summer of 1940. 

Showcasing incredible aircraft and feats of engineering, awe inspiring flying formations and unique aircraft, Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show is a spectacle not to be missed.

Our 2025 event welcomed some of the only airworthy examples of historic aircraft, such as the B-17, Avro Anson and rare warbirds from around the world. Expect to see more memorable flying moments in 2026. 

The famous Duxford 'Big Wing' formation will return, with Spitfires and Hurricanes soaring overhead in celebration of 90 years of the Spitfire.

It’s summer 1940 on the ground too, with live music, a traditional steam fair, and living history groups evoking the spirit of the era. We’ve even got a vintage hairdresser to help you perfect that 1940s look!

And that’s on top of the museum exhibitions and hangars, full of aircraft from the Second World War through to today. All included in your ticket. Rain or shine, the weather needn’t dampen anybody’s spirits. 

Where else could you witness historic aircraft take to the skies from a Second World War airfield while immersed in the sights, sounds, fashions and rhythms of the 1940s?

    Getting here

    • Site open 8am to 7pm.
    • IWM Duxford is near Cambridge.
    • Getting to IWM Duxford by car or public transport.
    • Leave plenty of time if you’re driving. We have a plan to manage the traffic, but there might be some delays – this is a popular event!
    • For your safety, be prepared for security checks, our team will get you onto the showground after your arrival as soon as they can.

    Parking

    • Pre-booking a parking permit is essential if you are planning to drive to Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show. Please book your parking when you buy your event ticket. 
    • Free event shuttle buses will also run to and from Cambridge station and Trumpington Park and Ride over the weekend.

    Eating, drinking and shopping

    • Food and drink is available at food trucks and at our three onsite cafes. And you're welcome to bring your own picnic.
    • You can add a programme or Duxford Air Shows merchandise, including a special Spitfire 90th anniversary coin, when you book tickets to collect on the day.
    • Gift shop on site. See the Duxford collection in our online shop.

How much does it cost to bring a family to Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show?

Kids go free to Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show with every Standard Adult booking. Free shuttle buses are included with your tickets. 

Go to book tickets for all other ticket types, including our VIP Gold Experience, Grandstand seating and IWM member tickets.
