Relax with friends and family within the grounds of Duxford's historic airfield, enjoying delicious food and drink from our pop-up stalls, and unwinding to sounds from our vintage gramaphone DJ before settling down for a memorable evening of flying.
Returning for another summer, this popular evening event also offers photographers a unique opportunity to capture IWM Duxford at it's most atmospheric.
From the warm golden glow of golden hour to the drama of dusk and night-time pyrotechnics, capture incredible close-up and flying shots of an array of aircraft.
Tickets include entry to IWM Duxford's permanent exhibitions and hangars.

All flying is subject to weather and serviceability of the aircraft.

Whether you're attending Duxford Flying Evening for the first time or joining us again, here is everything you need to know for a relaxed evening out.

Tickets
- Advance booking is required. There are no tickets available on the day, either online or at the gate.
- IWM members get 10% off tickets and other exclusive Flying Season benefits. Become an IWM member.

Getting here
- Site open from 10am to 4pm, but you will need to buy a normal Duxford entrance ticket if you wish to visit before 5pm.
- IWM Duxford is near Cambridge.
- Visit our getting to IWM Duxford page for information on travelling by car or public transport.
- There is no free shuttle bus from Cambridge station or Trumpington park and ride for this event.

Eating, drinking and shopping
- Food and drink will be available at our three onsite cafés and pop-up food trucks. And you're welcome to bring your own picnic. There will also be a pop-up bar for refreshments.

What to bring
- Summer evenings can get cool, so maybe bring a warm layer.
- You're welcome to bring a chair or picnic blanket, or even a windbreak as long as it’s properly secured.
- Check the local weather forecast and bring a raincoat and brolly if you need to .
