Details
The Department for Education (DfE) has provided over £450 million for the 2026 to 2027 CIF programme.
There were 3,925 academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary-aided schools eligible to apply, of which 1,706 applied for 2,525 projects.
The programme has confirmed successful applications for 813 projects at 684 eligible educational establishments. This includes 12 projects at 11 academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary-aided schools that are pending approval, subject to further due diligence.
We have contacted all applicants to tell them the outcome of their application and set out next steps.

CIF 2026 to 2027: successful appeals
‘Condition Improvement Fund 2026 to 2027: successful appeals’ is the list of successful appeals for the 2026 to 2027 round. It:
- provides funding of £5.7 million for 10 projects at academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary aided schools
- forms part of the over £450 million for the 2026 to 2027 CIF programme
We have contacted all appeal applicants to inform them of the outcome of their appeal and set out next steps. This decision is final and there is no further stage in the appeals process. We are unable to consider any requests to review this decision.
