The seminar included presentations from David Rhind, of the Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information, Heather Savory, from the Open Data User Group, and McKinsey's Michael Chui. This was&nbsp;followed by case studies looking at OS Open Data, census data, and open transport data. The seminar was closed by Andrew Stott of the Public Sector Transparency Board. ]]></description>

            <description><![CDATA[The Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information (APPSI) has launched a pilot glossary of terms commonly used in discussion of public sector information and open data.&nbsp;APPSI's <a href="/appsi/open-data-psi-glossary.htm">post on the launch </a>notes: 'In order to ensure consistency of definitions in its own deliberations, and encourage consistency across government, APPSI (in cooperation with the Cabinet Office) has initiated an exercise to aggregate and rationalise glossaries into a single preferred set of definitions. This Directive provides&nbsp;that such&nbsp;charges 'shall not exceed a reasonable amount'. The Directive allows until 18 July 2015 for Member States to implement the amendments, and UK officials are now planning the transposition into UK law. ]]></description>
