Respond to all 21 questions to request a de minimis assessment from the MMO. The MMO will review the information you provide and tell you whether your activity is below the de minimis threshold.
You can view the de minimis assessment process flowchart (opens in new tab) to see how the screening questions lead to a de minimis or EIA screening outcome.
If your activity is below the threshold, the MMO will confirm whether you are exempt from a marine licence. You must receive written confirmation from the MMO before starting the activity.
If your activity is above the de minimis threshold, you will need to complete an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening.
You will need the co-ordinates of your planned activity in a shapefile or csv format. There will also be an opportunity to upload a project document to provide additional information if you wish. Please note your responses will not be saved until you submit the form.
If you want a copy of your answers by email after you submit the form, you'll need a GOV.UK One Login (opens in new tab). If you do not want to use a GOV.UK One Login, take a screenshot of your answers on the 'Check Your Answers' page before you submit the form.
