Emma Hardy MP
Biography
Emma Hardy was appointed Minister of State in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on 21 July 2026.
She was previously Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs between 9 July 2024 and 21 July 2026.
She was elected as the MP for Kingston upon Hull West and Haltemprice in July 2024.
Minister of State
The Minister of State in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has specific responsibilities for:
- water reform and delivery
- environmental governance, including the Environmental Improvement Plan
- flooding and emergencies
- waste, resources and the circular economy
- chemicals and air quality
- sponsorship of the Office for Environmental Protection (OEP), Environment Agency, the New Water Regulator and Consumer Council for Water (CCW)
