Join the Museum's Inspectress Helen Dorey and Head of Conservation Jane Wilkinson for a very special after-hours tour to learn more about how our Conservation team ensures that the Museum’s historic spaces and extensive and varied collections are protected and maintained.
Soane stipulated, in the 1833 Soane Museum Act of Parliament, that his house be left as it was when he died in 1837. As such it is a Regency time capsule and preserving it is a full-time job for our conservators and curators. After the Museum closes, two experts on Sir John Soane's Museum will take you on a journey around the Museum, sharing their decades of experience in looking after this house and its collections, with insights on previous works, ongoing projects, and even a look inside the in-house Conservation Studio.
Tours last around 60 minutes and will be led by our Inspectress and Head of Conservation. There are 15 places per tour. The tour will last from 6pm - 7pm.
