The national school breakfast programme (NSBP) ended in July 2026. All NSBP schools with primary-age pupils were offered a place on the free breakfast club programme from September 2026.

For the 2026 to 2027 academic year, NSBP schools with secondary-age pupils have been offered continued financial support from the Department for Education to offer breakfast food to their pupils.

The NSBP secondary school support grant 2026 to 2027 funding methodology sets out the methodology that underpins this grant funding starting from November 2026.
