     You can now use the tool to check when to expect a reply for some Inheritance Tax queries.

  2. 5 June 2026

     The guidance has been updated as you can no longer check in the tool how long it will take HMRC to register you as an agent to use HMRC online services.

  3. 4 February 2026

     Updated to add Public service pensions remedy to the list of areas to find out when you can expect to receive a reply from HMRC to a query or request you've made.

  4. 25 June 2025

     The page has been updated to include Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) into the list of queries or requests options available, as this is now available within the service.

  5. 10 May 2023

     You can now use the tool to check when you’ll receive a reply to queries and requests about employers’ PAYE and National Insurance.

     Child Benefit has been added to the list about when you can expect to receive a reply from HMRC to a query or request you've made.
