Deepen your understanding. Trust your ability.
You can use Gen AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or Gemini) to help you prepare for the process. However, you must not use these tools during the actual completion of the tests and assessments.
We need to ensure that responses are genuine and reflect your own abilities and potential.
Preparing with Gen AI
You can use Gen AI tools to support your preparation in the following ways:
- Research and learning: To gather information about the Civil Service, the Fast Stream, and the types of assessments you might face. This helps you understand what to expect.
- Practice and simulation: To simulate potential scenarios or questions based on real-life policies or projects. This helps you practise your responses and build confidence.
- Skill enhancement: To improve your writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills by asking for feedback on your practice responses or problem-solving approaches.
Important: Gen AI does not always provide accurate or current information. Ensure you check any information it provides against reliable sources.
During the selection process
Integrity and authenticity
Honesty is a fundamental principle of the Civil Service Code. To ensure a fair process for everyone, you must not use Gen AI tools during your tests or assessments.
Your responses must be your own thoughts and ideas and must reflect your own abilities. If we suspect that you have used Gen AI tools during your tests or assessments, your application may be withdrawn.
Why authenticity matters
We want to understand your potential in a role and as a person.
Role fit: The selection process aims to identify candidates who are genuinely suited for the Fast Stream. Authentic responses help assessors understand your true potential.
Personal growth: By relying on your own abilities, you gain a better understanding of your strengths and any areas for improvement. This self-awareness is valuable for your professional and personal development.
