Secure Innovation Security Reviews Scheme
National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) are pleased to announce the launch of the Secure Innovation Security Review Scheme. To support organisations to stay secure, this year the Government is part-funding security reviews by approved Security Reviewers for up to 500 early-stage tech organisations, so now is the time to take advantage of this opportunity.
The Security Review scheme provides access to approved Security Reviewers who can assess your organisation’s current protective security practices and provide expert guidance against a framework developed by the UK’s national technical authorities, NPSA and NCSC. Through looking at the organisation's approach to protective security governance, risk and incident management, security culture, cyber security, and supply chains and partnerships, taking part in a security review will provide early-stage innovative organisations with holistic protective and cyber security advice to support them to protect their innovation and commercial success.
In partnership with Business West, Innovate UK, the Department of Business and Trade (DBT), and the Department of Science, Innovation, and Technology (DSIT), up to 500 small and medium sized organisations will have the opportunity to take part in this part-funded scheme, with participating organisations contributing £500, and the remaining £2,500 being covered by the UK government.
In a pilot of the scheme 98% of participants reported feeling that they had sufficient knowledge to identify the security threats to their business following the review, and 89% stating the £500 contribution represented value for money.
Visit the Innovate UK website for full details of the scheme, including the eligibility criteria, and to start your application.
