Government Security Profession Career Framework
The Government Security Profession (GSP) Career Framework sets out the skills needed for roles in government security, that is separate to the Government Cyber Profession. The framework supports progression, development and consistency across the profession.
Use the GSP Career Framework to:
- understand the skills needed for different roles
- identify your current skill level and transferable skills
- plan your development and next career move
Anyone can use the framework, including if you:
- already work in security – use it to support your continued professional development
- are new to security – use it to understand the skills you need and what you already bring
To view all roles for every specialism, see the alphabetical index of roles.
If you are a civil servant and need a downloadable version of the framework, email gsp@cabinetoffice.gov.uk.
We cannot share this if you are not a civil servant.
