Documents
Details
This open general trade control licence (OGTCL) provides, subject to certain conditions, export licensing coverage for maritime anti-piracy services that traverse the ‘high risk area’ (HRA) of the Indian Ocean.
Read guidance on the licencing required by private maritime security companies (PMSCs) to provide maritime anti-piracy services in the HRA.
See the list of companies registered to use the OGTCL (maritime anti-piracy).
Complying with licence terms and conditions
PMSCs must comply with OGTCL (MA-P) terms and conditions by:
- supplying documentation in support of a maritime anti-piracy licence registration
- following Export Control Joint Unit’s (ECJU) procedures to update or surrendering an OGTCL MA-P when they leave the sector, merge or become part of a joint venture
Maritime anti-piracy documentation service
PMSCs can get sealed and signed physical certificates through ECJU’s maritime anti-piracy documentation service. This is to provide evidence of holding a controlled goods licence for those overseas governments who do not accept electronic licences.
Revoked licences
The most recent revoked licence is available in the documents section.
You can find older revoked versions of the OGTCL (maritime anti-piracy) on the National Archives website.
