Details
Establishing the KSIG was a main commitment of the King scallop fisheries management plan (FMP) published in December 2023.
The KSIG’s role is to:

identify and progress actions to deliver commitments set out in the FMP

make recommendations to Defra about implementing proposed measures
The group meets quarterly, or more often if needed.
Views and recommendations from any task-and-finish groups will be brought to the group for review. All final decisions will be made by Defra as the fisheries authority.
