Technical eligibility criteria and application guidance for the zero emission van and truck grant scheme for manufacturers.

  1. Application forms updated.

  2. Forms updated plus information on model year updates and whole vehicle type approval extensions for previously approved vehicles.

  3. Instructions for completing the application form have been updated.

  4. Forms B and C have been updated for clarity to include which vehicle types align with each form of documentation.

  5. Updated information about battery or fuel cell warranty and degradation.

  6. For vehicles approved to IVA or NSSTA routes, crash testing requirements have changed. Best practice guidelines for providing evidence for consumer electrical safety have also been updated. When starting a new vehicle application, applicants should submit Form A: scheme number application to the Vehicle Certification Agency. There is a new contact email address for queries about whether a new variant of a vehicle needs to be approved.

  7. Guidance amended to reflect an updated multistage build section, application process clarification and eligibility criteria including maximum speed requirements for refuse collection vehicles and range requirements for multistage build vehicles.

  8. The guidance has been updated to reflect the changes to the plug-in grant schemes announced on 18 March 2021.

  9. The guidance has been updated to show that the waiting time for a decision has changed. It should now be received within 2 months.

  10. Grant application guidance document reformatted and background section updated.

  11. Future review of grant levels update.

  12. Guidance updated to cover N2 and N3 category vans.

  13. Updated to explain that vehicles which have already received the plug-in van grant will not be eligible for enhanced capital allowances

  14. Latest Plug-in Car Grant scheme claims until 31 December 2013 released.

  15. Latest Plug-in Van Grant scheme claims until 30 September 2013 released.
