This executive summary outlines the main achievements and future initiatives of the government’s Disability and Access Ambassadors (DAAs).

This update covers the period from January 2025 to September 2026.   

DAAs are senior business leaders operating at the heart of 20 UK industries. They volunteer as DAAs alongside their day jobs, and act as a vital bridge between businesses, disabled communities and the government.

DAAs aim to create change from within and show that accessibility is a fundamental right that:

  • enriches society
  • enhances quality of life
  • serves as a powerful catalyst for innovation, commercial growth and social inclusion

This update provides a snapshot of collective impact across 20 ambassador sectors. Main areas of focus include:

  • breaking down digital and financial barriers
  • creating accessible travel and built environments
  • improving workplace inclusion
  • enhancing everyday life and culture
