In Great Britain, the Radio Equipment Regulations 2017 apply when placing products on the GB market.
In Northern Ireland, the Radio Equipment Regulations 2017 also apply when placing products on the NI market, but were modified on 28 December 2024 by the Radio Equipment (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2024, and on 16 December 2025 by the Radio Equipment (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2025. The former introduced new requirements for certain categories of electrical / electronic devices, including a charging solution based on USB-C, and the latter for certain internet-connected radio equipment, radio equipment products designed or intended for use by children, and childcare devices and smart wearable accessories that can process personal, traffic or location data.
The Radio Equipment and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment Regulations 2000 were revoked on 26 December 2017 but continue to apply to relevant products placed on the market prior to this date.
