Inspection and application for official copies (PG11)

  1. The final paragraph in section 4.1 has been amended to explain that, where title plans have been sent electronically by way of PDFs, there is a zoom function that can be used to give a better view of details such as colouring or numbering.

  2. The guide has been reformatted to ensure the digital routes for official copies are explained before reference to paper-based applications, reflecting HM Land Registry’s digital transformation. No additional guidance has been added, other than for applications for an official copy where more than one deed of the same date and type exists (section 6.3).

  3. Sections 4.2 and 6.1.1 have been amended as we can now send and receive documents electronically up to 40 megabytes in size.

  4. Sections 4.1 and 6 have been amended to clarify we will reject applications in forms OC1 or OC2 where panel 5 has not been completed.

  5. Section 8 has been amended with our updated requirements for personal inspection.

  6. Section 7 has been amended as historical copies can now be ordered through Business e-services. Section 8 has been amended to clarify how you should request an appointment to attend a local office.

  7. A small number of minor changes have been made to the guide. Section 3 refers to and links to form CIT which, following implementation of The Land Registration (Amendment) Rules 2018 on 6 April 2018, is now a promulgated form.

  8. Section 7 has been amended to specify that all emailed historical copy applications must be sent to the Durham Office email address.

  9. Section 5 has been amended to clarify that an application for a certificate in form CI can be made against any title.

  10. Section 7 has been amended as a result of a change to our email addresses.

  11. Section 4.2 has been amended to reflect that we can now send documents electronically up to 20 megabytes in size.

  12. Section 7 has been amended to reflect that we will accept HC1 requests (for register copies only) by email where the customer holds a variable direct debit account.

  13. Section 4 has been amended to reflect that we will no longer send official copies by fax.

  14. Section 10.3 has been added to give details of our refund policy.
