We provide a SAR form for you to use when making this request and this form is designed to help you give as much detail as possible to assist us in finding the information you have requested. You don’t need to use the form but using this may prevent us from having to ask you for more information and therefore allow us to complete your request as soon as is possible.

SARs are governed by UK Data Protection legislation and we will respond to you within one month of either:

  • our receipt of your request; or
  • our receipt of any further information that we needed to obtain, in order to process your request.

We will send you this information by secure email to make sure that only you can access it, and it will be in a searchable form so you can find information as easily as possible. You can also ask for the information to be sent by post, but this may take longer to reach you.

Please make sure that all your personal information is up to date on your online account, as this will ensure that your SAR is sent to the correct email or postal address and passwords (if necessary) are sent to the correct mobile telephone numbers.

Under the Equality Act 2010, reasonable adjustments will be made for those who are unable to submit a request in writing. In certain circumstances, the requester has the right to receive their information verbally. If you require a reasonable adjustment to be made, then please contact either Student Finance England or Student Finance Wales.
