What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic, qualified Class Teacher on a fixed‑term basis for one year initially, with the possibility of extension. The role is based within our Key Stage 1 Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP), supporting our inclusive approach to educating children with special educational needs who struggle to access the curriculum at an age‑appropriate level.

The successful applicant will:

• be supportive of the Catholic ethos of our school
• provide academic, behavioural and social support for individual pupils and small groups
• have a strong understanding of the National Curriculum, with a proven record of achieving high pupil outcomes
• demonstrate good knowledge of adaptive teaching strategies to ensure inclusive practice for pupils with Special Educational Needs
• be enthusiastic, reflective and an effective communicator
• have high standards of oral, written and numeracy skills
• be committed to raising pupils’ attainment, particularly in literacy and mathematics, with an understanding of intervention strategies relevant to Key Stage 1 and EYFS
• be committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all children
• have some subject leadership experience, or be able to demonstrate readiness to lead a foundation curriculum subject

Experience of working in a Catholic school is desirable but not essential. We are a friendly, supportive staff with an excellent reputation.

What the school offers its staff

The St John Paul II Multi Academy is a highly successful Catholic Multi Academy encompassing nine Primary Schools and two Secondary Schools. The ethos of St John Paul II Multi Academy is Catholic and was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families.
