About the Role
This is a highly responsible yet rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll manage a diverse and complex caseload, supporting vulnerable adults, where the Council acts as DWP Appointee and/or Court Appointed Deputy.
You’ll play a vital part in safeguarding and managing individuals’ financial affairs, ensuring they receive the benefits, support and protection they are entitled to, always acting in their best interests and helping them live the largest lives possible.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Managing finances including income, savings, property and debts
• Securing welfare benefits and financial entitlements
• Preparing and submitting Court of Protection annual reports to a high standard and within deadlines
• Developing sustainable budgets that promote financial stability and wellbeing
• Working collaboratively with partners such as DWP, OPG, HMRC, care providers and families
• Identifying and mitigating financial risks, including fraud or exploitation

This is a key role where your professional judgement, empathy and attention to detail will make a genuine impact.

We’re looking for someone who is:
• Knowledgeable in the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and welfare benefits
• Financially astute, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders
• Compassionate, resilient and committed to safeguarding

Additional Information
• Enhanced (Adults Barred List) DBS required
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle essential
