Summary
Design Technology Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role from September 2026

Duties as Design Technology Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 and GCSE level
- Teach GCSE Design Technology confidently, following exam specifications and schemes of work
- Ensure lessons are practical, engaging, and inclusive, promoting creativity and technical skills
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and workshop safety
- Assess pupil progress accurately and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Support pupils in developing design, making, and evaluation skills
- Contribute to curriculum planning and the ongoing development of the Design Technology department
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote pupil wellbeing at all times
- Work effectively with colleagues to support whole-school priorities as a Design Technology Teacher
Ideal Design Technology Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Proven experience teaching Design Technology within a secondary school setting
- Ability to teach GCSE Design Technology confidently and effectively
- Strong subject knowledge across relevant Design Technology specialisms
- Confident classroom and practical workshop management skills
- A reliable, adaptable, and committed approach to a long-term temporary role
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
- Enthusiasm for delivering high-quality Design Technology education
