Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and supportive lecturer to join our team, delivering high‑quality teaching and learning to both 16–18 learners and some adult (19+) students. The role involves delivering our ‘Restart’ (unaccredited, part time) programme alongside City & Guilds Level 1 qualifications in Hairdressing, ensuring sessions are engaging, accessible and tailored to learner needs.

You will take on Course Leader responsibility for the Level 1 Hairdressing programme, overseeing curriculum planning, monitoring learner progress and maintaining high standards across the course. The role requires a strong pastoral approach, as you will be supporting learners who may be working at lower levels and who benefit from a holistic, nurturing style of guidance.

We are looking for someone with experience teaching Hairdressing qualifications within a Further Education environment, with up‑to‑date industry knowledge and the ability to inspire confidence and motivation in learners. A calm, patient and learner‑centred approach is essential to ensure students feel supported and able to progress.

We welcome applications from individuals who are committed, flexible and passionate about helping learners develop both their technical skills and personal confidence.

If you would like an informal discussion about the role or require further details, we would be happy to arrange this.

The College is committed to safeguarding and promotes the welfare of all learners and expects its staff to share this commitment. Employment at the College is subject to an Enhanced DBS check. If the post falls under the definition of regulated activity it will also be subject to an additional barred list check.

When we shortlist potential candidates, we will inform those who have been shortlisted that online search maybe conducted as part of the due diligence checks. The college will ensure to communicate the lawful basis on which this personal information will be collected.
