Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting Class 2 (Category C) Drivers for a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity with a well-established waste and recycling company operating across Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking long-term stability, regular work, and the chance to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.
Newly qualified (new pass) drivers are welcome to apply
Working Pattern
Temp-to-perm position with long-term prospects
Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts available
Early morning starts (typically 6:00am–7:00am)
Full-time hours with overtime opportunities during busy periods
Pay Rates
Monday to Friday
£14.50 per hour (PAYE)
£16.25 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
Overtime – After 8 Hours
£19.32 per hour (PAYE)
£21.66 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
✅ Benefits
Minimum 8 hours pay guaranteed per shift
Weekly pay
Holiday pay accrued (unless PAYE Advanced is selected)

Operating a Class 2 vehicle on waste and recycling collection routes
Working as part of a team alongside loaders
Completing scheduled routes across Edinburgh and surrounding areas
Ensuring safe, efficient collection of waste and recycling materials
Carrying out daily vehicle checks and completing paperwork
Following strict health & safety procedures at all times
Providing a reliable and professional service
✅ Requirements
Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
Maximum 9 penalty points
(No DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements)
Physically fit and comfortable with an active outdoor role
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious attitude
