We are specifically looking for caring, enthusiastic and motivated learning support assistants to support students with additional needs across a welcoming and inclusive college in South Yorkshire.
We believe this is more than just a support role, it's a chance to make a genuine difference in young peoples lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic Support: Help students understand course materials, assignments, and practical tasks in classrooms or workshops.
- SEND Implementation: Deliver tailored support in line with student Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Independence Building: Encourage students to manage their own learning, time, and social interactions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with tutors, lecturers, and the additional learning support team to track student progress.
- Access Arrangements: Assist students with exam accommodations, acting as a reader, scribe, or proctor when required.
Requirements
- Education: GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Experience: Previous experience working with young people or vulnerable adults is highly desirable.
- Skills: Excellent communication, patience, and the ability to adapt to changing classroom environments.
- Compliance: Must hold or be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
