About the School:
We are currently working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Altrincham that is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from September 2026.
This full-time role involves supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, many of whom have additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and significant communication difficulties. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, supportive relationships with children will be essential in helping pupils thrive both socially and academically.
The Role:
As a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with EHCPs and additional learning needs
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery, behaviour support, and targeted interventions
- Promoting emotional regulation, independence, and positive routines throughout the school day
- Supporting pupil progress tracking and communicating effectively with the wider support team
- Helping to create a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
What We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND, either within education or care settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting children
- A good understanding of Autism and wider SEND needs
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
To Be Eligible, You Must:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
- Be able to provide two professional references relating to work with children or young people
